PROX:IMITY RE:MIX are having an informal meeting with all applicants and the artistic directors of the company on the 15th of July at 5pm at the Gallery Bistro in Port Moody. It'd be great if anyone interested could shoot us an email and attend!

MACHiNENOiSY, a Vancouver based contemporary dance company is looking for 8 youth (aged approx.15-24) to take part in a 12 day artist residency at Evergreen Cultural Center. Participants will work with MACHiNENOiSY Artistic Directors Delia Brett & Daelik and a new media artist to create an approximately 30 minute performance that explores issues of identity, gender and community.

No previous dance training is necessary, just open-mindedness and interest in co-creating a multimedia dance performance. The residency will take place every day from August 22 - September 2, ending in a public performance entitled PROX:IMITY RE:MIX September 3rd, 2015. Participants will receive an honorarium to rehearse and perform at the Evergreen Cultural Centre. Rehearsals will be weekdays from 11-5pm and weekends from 1-5pm.

Queer youth (gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, trans*, two-spirit, gender-fluid, non-binary, asexual, intersex, unsure, questioning, & curious) and all their allies are especially encouraged to join.

This project is youth driven. The content is created from a series of discussions with the group around issues of identity, trust, self-respect, self-confidence and touch.

To submit, please email a few statements about yourself and why you are interested in the project.
